Hi Team,
As part of our ongoing journey connected to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) we are excited to announce the next of our commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) calls to action. As we have previously announced, we have committed to furthering TRC call to action #92 - Businesses and Reconciliation.
This commitment comes with the responsibility to take tangible steps including creating new policies, processes, practices, and mindsets that reinforce and reflect our commitment. Today’s announcement advances our DEIB practices.
Beginning next month all employees will be required to demonstrate how they are advancing TRC #92. This will be part of our annual employee reviews. To support you in your role we will be offering a variety of learning opportunities that increase knowledge and capability related to truth and reconciliation. We will be rolling out the new employee performance review template to help clarify how the new process works.
For our Indigenous colleagues, you will not have the same requirement related to TRC #92 and the employee review process. We are setting aside resources to support your personal and professional development. We recognize that for Indigenous people reconciliation means something very different. Your approach to reconcilation is personal and we will support you in the choices you make for your journey. If you are interested in being involved in our company’s assessment of our TRC commitment, we will put you in touch with our external TRC evaluator, and you will have the opportunity to provide feedback that will shape our future actions.
If there are any questions or concerns, please speak to your manager.
